And here we are with volume two of the Marion De Re book recommendations! This post is all about the For the Love of Rom-Coms series, and if you love rom-coms, you’ll love these books.

I love being able to recommend books to people. To provide them with the same joy I’ve received from the amazing authors who put their hearts and souls into their books. But 99% of the time, after I suggest a title to someone, they’ll ask what the book is about, to which I’ll reply, “Uhhhh…” Even though I read and evaluate manuscripts at least three times as I’m editing, I still will fail spectacularly when I try to describe what the book was about.

So, in an effort to help shine a light on the books I’ve edited, I have decided to share lists of the author-written blurbs and links to each book’s Amazon page. Most of these are listed on my Testimonials and Portfolio page as well. These lists will just provide a glimpse into the actual stories, but being able to read their summaries will be infinitely more helpful than me saying, “Gee, I don’t really remember. But it’s fantastic, and you MUST read it!”

A little disclaimer: As these are the blurbs the authors have written about their books, the majority of this post (and any others like it) will not be in my own words. I do not claim to have written any of their content myself.

Hating Thy Neighbor

My revenge is so close I can almost taste it.

All I have to do is go undercover, make Charlotte Weston fall in love with me, and discover her dad’s secrets to finally put him behind bars.
Sounds easy, right? I’m a charming guy and an excellent agent.
Except it doesn’t exactly go as planned. Charlotte isn’t the shallow heiress I was expecting and she’s definitely not ready to get swept-off her feet. She’s smart, she’s feisty, and she hates me at first sight.

As I put my plan in motion—which involves getting shirtless more than necessary, a secluded cabin in the woods, karaoke nights, and a fake broken car—I start to get lost in the lie I created and question the entire operation.

What if I found love when I was seeking revenge?

Hating Thy Neighbor is a closed-door enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy with laugh-out-loud moments and sizzling fade-to-black scenes between an undercover FBI agent and a hotel heiress. It’s the first book in the For The Love of Rom-Coms series. All books are standalones, told in dual POV and end with a happily ever after.

Resisting My Boss

The minute my new boss steps foot in the conference room, my dream job turns into a nightmare.

Jude Reed and I already met.
Last night. In a bar.
We danced. We kissed. I ditched him…
Let’s just say I’m not ready to be a carefree city girl yet. And let’s just say Mr. Reed holds a grudge.

Working for Jude is not what I signed up for, and he won’t be winning Boss of the Year anytime soon. Between his sky-high expectations and cryptic explanations, he has the entire office on their toes.

“Grumpy” doesn’t begin to describe him.

Or so I thought…

Because the more time I spend around him, the more his tough exterior crumbles, revealing someone as sweet as his secret baking talent.

There’s a reason he plays an intimidating role that strikes fear into his employees, but just knowing there’s a caring man behind the mask doesn’t mean I’m suited to be anything more than his assistant.

No matter how irresistible he is.

Fake Dating the Footballer

I hate football with every fiber of my being.
Ironic since I’m dating Wade Hunter a.k.a England’s most eligible player.

Oops. Fake dating.
Long story short, my longtime crush, Karl, came back from a mission abroad with a fiancée at his arm when I thought he was about to declare his love to me.
Humiliating, right?
Well, that’s why I grabbed the first guy in the airport and introduced him as my boyfriend.
Surprisingly, he went along with the charade.
Even more so, he showed up at my door days later asking me to keep it going.
Dating a footballer, even if its fake, is the last thing I want to do while I’m nursing a broken heart. But when he said I could use this relationship to make Karl jealous, and win the feature contest at work, I signed on the three dotted lines and scored myself a fake boyfriend.
A fake rebound still counts, right?

Marrying the Billionaire

LA is a dream graveyard.
At least that’s what I thought. Turns out I just landed a big paying part after all.
Well, acting as a Billionaire wife isn’t exactly what I was thinking when I dreamed about my career, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Besides, pretending is my thing. I’ve been doing it for so long it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s not.

So, in the span of a few days, my cat and I moved from a studio apartment to a mega mansion.
Too bad it comes with a grumpy British man who’s allergic to cats, annoyingly handsome, and hates anything but his job.

But there might be more to Colton’s cold facade, and as it crackles, I discover a protective and caring man with a past almost as complicated as the one I’m running from.

As we get more comfortable in this fake relationship, I get a sense of safety I’ve never experienced in my life and the line between truth and lie starts to blur.
Or is it?
If it were all fake, I’m pretty sure my heart wouldn’t rattle in my chest every time Colton smiles at me. Or talks to me. Or looks at me.

I know this marriage isn’t real, but what if my feelings are?

This may be the end of this post, but never fear because Marion has more book beauties in store for you! And so do I…
