I love being able to recommend books to people. To provide them with the same joy I’ve received from the amazing authors who put their hearts and souls into their books. But 99% of the time, after I suggest a title to someone, they’ll ask what the book is about, to which I’ll reply, “Uhhhh…” Even though I read and evaluate manuscripts at least three times as I’m editing, I still will fail spectacularly when I try to describe what the book was about.

So, in an effort to help shine a light on the books I’ve edited, I have decided to share lists of the author-written blurbs and links to each book’s Amazon page. Most of these are listed on my Testimonials and Portfolio page as well. These lists will just provide a glimpse into the actual stories, but being able to read their summaries will be infinitely more helpful than me saying, “Gee, I don’t really remember. But it’s fantastic, and you MUST read it!”

A little disclaimer: As these are the blurbs the authors have written about their books, the majority of this post (and any others like it) will not be in my own words. I do not claim to have written any of their content myself.

Let’s start this blog series with the sweet and steamy–but closed door–romances by Marion De Re. I’ve proofread all but two of her books, I believe, and they just keep getting better as she goes on. I’m always super excited when she sends me her newest book baby.

Only Girl (Book 1)

Disclosure: I didn’t proofread this one. Her editor for this one was unable to do the rest in the trilogy, so Marion found me. And I’m thrilled she did!

Jack Rose is one of the most famous pop stars in the world.

But unlike my sister, I’ve never been a fan. Pretentious womanizers aren’t exactly my type. So, when he strikes up a conversation as I’m waitressing at his birthday party, I’m not looking for anything more than refilling his drinks. But Jack doesn’t give up that easily, and my wounded heart makes me vulnerable.

As I get to know him through dates that feel more like secret missions, I realize the tabloids couldn’t be further from the truth. There’s a lot more to Jack Rose than the music sensation. He’s kind, protective, and his smile makes my insides burn.

The last thing I need when I’m supposed to figure out what to do with my life is to travel the world with a superstar, but the offer might just be too irresistible.

Broken Boy (Book 2)

Life can change in a split second. It can go either way. You can meet someone who will transform your life forever, or read a note that would destroy it. Both happened to me. In that order.
How do you go on with your life?

How do you move on after going from the happiest girl alive to a shadow of yourself?

First advice: Surround yourself with true friends.
Second advice: Practice self-care
Third advice: Don’t close the door to love forever.

Content warning: Broken Boy is a closed-door romantic comedy. It’s the second book in the trilogy and ends in a cliffhanger. The books must be read in order, and there’s guaranteed HEA in the last book. While mostly lighthearted, this story explores themes around addiction and recovery (including one heavy prologue) that could trigger certain audiences. Read with care.

Only Love (Book 3)

Just when I thought my life was back on track, it got shattered again.
One look at him and I forget who I am.
One conversation and nothing makes sense.
One touch and everything changes.

In the midst of my blooming career and crazy family drama, I have to find the answer to this simple question:
Can I really forgive him after what he’s done?
And more importantly: Do I want to?

Content warning: Only Love is a closed-door romantic comedy. It’s the last book in the trilogy and the books must be read in order. While mostly lighthearted, this story explores themes around addiction and recovery that could trigger certain audiences. Read with care

Blurred Lines (Spin-off of the Only Love Trilogy)

I don’t do relationships.
With divorced parents and a father who hasn’t contacted me in over twenty years, I’m not the kind of girl who dreams of being swept off her feet by prince charming. I do that by myself, every day, in the dance studio.
So, when the most gorgeous man I ever laid eyes on suggests we become friends with benefits, it feels like I’ve won the lottery.
But after our arrangement is forced to stop due to a bad fall, Braden starts showing up at my door with food and reveals another side of him. A caring side that makes me—and the lines we drew—melt away.
Throw in undeniable chemistry, domestic activities, the fact that he’s my estranged dad’s right hand, and complicated doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Blurred Lines is a friends with benefits romantic comedy with laugh-out-loud moments, sizzling fade to black intimate scenes, and flirty banter between a cinnamon roll hero and a sassy heroine.
Blurred Lines is a standalone novel, but you’ll find your beloved characters from the Only Girl Trilogy.

Stay tuned for more fantabulous book recommendations, including more by Ms. De Re!
