Meghan is a developmental editor, line editor, copy editor, and proofreader with a BA in psychology and an AA in Sociology from Purdue University Northwest. She specializes in various forms of fiction, particularly those written by independent authors. In addition to Literary Pearl Editing, Meghan is also an in-house editor for Quill & Flame Publishing House. Because her editing career began after becoming a beta reader for a best-selling author, Meghan’s editing and proofreading skills offer a unique perspective by editing through the eyes of a reader as opposed to an author.

Meghan lives in Northwest Indiana with her husband and their rambunctious son and adult bonus daughter. When she isn’t working her dream job from home, she is often baking delicious desserts, directing the church choir, or lounging in a comfy chair with her nose in a book.

Some fun facts about your editor:

  • My husband is a Lutheran pastor. We serve a beautiful church in Northwest Indiana, about 30 minutes southeast of Chicago. We’ve been married since 2009 and have one rambunctious son and an adult bonus daughter.
  • After graduating from Purdue University-Calumet (now called Purdue University Northwest) with a BA in Psychology and an AA in Sociology, I worked in a mental health facility for two years. Even though I enjoyed it at the time, it’s not something I want to do again. Since then, my life has been filled with providing childcare for my nieces and nephew, being a foster parent, and of course, being a pastor’s wife and mother.
  • My genre of choice for reading has changed throughout the years, but what hasn’t changed is my absolute delight in picking up a book and losing myself in another world.
  • I have a love of all things sparkly.
  • I come from a long line of musicians and have been singing since before I could read. A friend of mine and I are co-directors of our church choir, mainly because neither of us wanted to do it by ourselves.
  • Baking is another of my passions, and I have an obsession with sprinkles that borders on obscene.
  • I don’t consider myself a writer, but I do have a personal blog, Grace, Laughter, and Coffee, which I update occasionally with new recipes, life updates, and book reviews.
